Oh, No!

Frivole alerted me to what I already knew... the last row was really wonky. I had not been able to face that reality.

Off it came.

I have now completed the first split row again. Sigh.

Slow!

This row of split rings will be the slowest as there is a lot of checking to see
where to attach the rings. It will be easier on the subsequent rounds.

Centre Complete

Thanks, Frivole, for the finished wonder
in the photo that I use to show my progress so far.

Moving on to the next phase.😊

Blogger?

How on earth to continue blogging when it is in impossiible to compose on Blogger. I am considering taking the thing over to Facebook.😡 Trying the Pages app right now…
Seems to work fine.... 👍🏻

Update : two more motifs to go for the centre. Still enjoyable.

Confusion

So many errors getting the joining up started! I had
to cut off the first few motifs a few times
before I finally figured out the
correct order and logistics!

Love the Babylo thread
and the pattern.

Fun.

Tatting To Tackle

If I do not concentrate, this Jan Stawasz pattern will get the better of me. I'm finding it difficult to follow the stitchcounts and cannot get distracted or there are mistakes.

Frivole's finished piece, here, is fabulous and since I've always been enticed by the design, after she posted this I knew it was time to tackle it.

The thread is DMC Babylo, a thre-ply #20, which is smaller and smoother than Lizbeth at the same size. I am enjoying both the appearance and the softness very much.

So, I shall boringly be blogging about this endeavour for quite a while. It's a big challenge!

This is Robin's pattern using variegated thread from AlenAleaDesigns:

Bookmark Gift

I forget where this pattern came from;
I believe it is published in a French publication.

Perhaps it is one of my favourites as. Seem to have tatted it many times,
this time with#40 Lizbeth., trying to use up this ball
of my least favourite variegated thread.

Buttons 'n Bookmarks

Bored with the buttons so they became bookmarks.
These are fun and very good small gifts
for the library crowd.

Small motif by Blomquist and Presson.
My favourite one.

Again!

This thread looks quite different with other beads, blue thread for the chains instead of green and a blue button.

Fall Back

Because I must admit I have - for the second time - given up on the Maranta pattern, I shall also admit to a burgeoning addiction to passively enjoying button tatting. I feel as I imagine Diane might, as she tats away at her growing mountain of  Ice Drops.

Here is as far as I got on the pattern; I cut off the last wonky row:

The long chains were once again a complete disaster.

The third pair of socks had been completed and awaits delivery to the young mom and her little one..

Challenge Revisited

Now that another gift is completed, and I am sewing in the border to the second sock, I have decided to have another go at the challenge that I abandoned a few weeks ago.

Have a look HERE at what Umintsuru was able to accomplish:

That woman can really tat! Beautiful precise work.

Fulfilling A Request

Another magic button gift.
She wants blue and green, so...

Also in the works: the last pair in the package of three:

The pattern I employed, as you can see, is one of Frivole's and one
of which I am particularly fond.  In pink, I think it is one of my faves.

Thanks, Joëlle!

Oh! I forgot to post the first pair!!!

Take A Guess

This is going to be very cute... I won't reveal the object till it's done.

I had begun with this pattern, but it is really just too much of a beaded bother, so I discarded the idea.

Peachy

Sally, of pop-a-bobbin fame made me a handy bobbin-winding tool; I had lost mine. She included a small tatted motif... with a button! Thanks, Sally!

When bored, tat buttons.

No More Mr Nice Guy

No more. Life's too short. I really do not like how this is turning out and now, after three attempts  to fix those long chains, it's not working. This is only the second pattern that I have completely given up on, the first bring Jane's beautiful African design a few years ago.

In this case, I find I cannot control the tension of the chains and they ended up being different lengths; even a mere millimetre made too much of a difference. The sides looked too uneven.

Sorry Umintsuru! This challenge was supposed to be fun -  it definitely is not for me! I am going to cut off the chain rows and see if I can save the centre.

Found: One Fancy Button

... and some new beads - as if I needed more!

I also have some new thread , in preparation for a
new challenge with Umintsuru in September.

Isn't this sweet?

Renulek Uodate

I'm on the penultimate row, which is quick.

The next row will take longer and use a lot of thread.

Not blocked yet.

Love the light silver thread.
