Humour In Spite of Sad Times

Mum passed away last night at 3.a.m.

It has been a difficult time and she so wanted to leave weeks ago, but just could not do it on her own planned schedule.  She determined that you just cannot bargain!  "The Joker always wins," she said a few days ago.
That was so my mum - wry humour till the very end.

Mary Konior has kept me relatively sane the past few days.
Here is a good one for times of stress.

  7. Fox,
So sorry to hear of your Mum's passing. No matter what our age, having our mom leave this earth leaves a hole in our life.
May the love of family and friends give you comfort.
May treasured memories ease your sorrow.
May God's love give you peace.

    Lovely little tatted piece .

  8. My sincere condolences to you, dear Fox.

Isn't it great that you will always remember her by her humour? My granny (the tatter) used to be that way - and I think of her often and fondly.

Sending you much love in the tough times ahead. May your tatting keep comforting you, and may you have all the real life support you need too.

  15. Oh, Fox! What a terrible shock. My heart goes out to you. Losing one's Mum is one of life's hardest blows. I'm glad that Mary K was there for you. Patchwork is a very soothing motif: somehow perfect in its rhythm and balance. Perhaps even an apt metaphor for a life well lived. Hang in there.

  16. Fox, I'm so sorry about your Mum... I've been out of the tatting loop here lately because things have just been busy & I haven't been paying much attention... I know it isn't much comfort, but I'm thinking about you & your family. Good that she kept her sense of humor, & that you'll have that one small good (considering the situation) memory. If there's anything I could do to help, don't you hesitate to let me know!

  20. Very sorry to hear about your Mum. It is so difficult when you say goodbye to your parents, but also so so painful to see them suffering. However, it does sound as though she had a good sense of humour, hold on to that memory.
